Easter Craft for Kids: Paper Plate Lamb

This Easter craft for kids creates one of the most perfect symbols for the spring season of rebirth and rejuvenation: a fluffy baby lamb. With average household materials, a plain paper plate can be transformed into an adorable Easter critter.

How I did this Project

Collect the materials:

  • Paper plate
  • Cotton balls
  • Black construction paper
  • Googly eye
  • Pink button
  • Glue stick
  • Piece of curling ribbon
  • Scissors

Steps for Making a Paper Plate Lamb

  1. Have children spread the glue stick on the back of the plate a small section at a time and apply cotton balls close together, including the edge of the plate.
  2. Once the entire plate is covered with cotton balls, cut an oval shape with ears for the face from the black construction paper and have them glue it onto the side of the plate.
  3. Have them glue on a googly eye and a pink button for the nose.
  4. Next they can cut out two black legs and glue them onto the bottom of the plate.
  5. For the finishing touch, they can glue on a spring-colored bow. Curling ribbon is the easiest to attach with a glue stick.
